Last week I attended Principal meeting for our school division. During the week some of the Principals that are in the masters program had a chance to show case to the superintendents what they have been learning about technology. On the last day of our meetings we had a presentation on the importance of technology. From this meeting a committee was formed to create a site on technology and how to use it for our division. This committee will meet and discuss filters, bans and ways to incorporate technology into the classrooms. I look forward to the new possibilities with technology in our school division!

This is definatly a step in the right direction. I can’t wait to have an openess without all the blocking. There is so much that I have learned that can be used in the classroom, but I can’t because we are too retricted with the web. It’s always good to know that there is someone who is repesenting us as classroom teacher and the things that we need to teach effectively.

It is great that your division is dedicating people to investigate these issues. I find that our computer system and the bans we have in place limiting on-line activity are far too restrictive. I hope you allow your children to view on-line media and to participate in the new culture of (re)creation.
